The Northlands of old, consisted of Sleswig Holstein from
the Elbe River north and included the Jutland Peninsula with
numerous Islands, the Peninsula of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
This was the home of the Vikings and later their descendants called
the Scandinavians. The Danish Kingdom is considered the oldest in the
western world. The first king of the Danes was King Gorm the Old who started he’s reign in 835 AD the present Danish Queen Margrethe traces her ancestry back to King Gorm. The Danes have distinguished themselves over the years and in many ways contributed to the development of the world and of the arts.
