László Veres, born in Budapest, Hungary, is widely recognized as a
talented educator, conductor and performer. Mr. Veres held the position
of principal clarinetist with the Tucson Symphony for sixteen years. He also
founded the Philharmonic Orchestra of Tucson and was its Music Director/
Conductor for seven years.

Retired from public school teaching after 30 years, he presently holds positions as
Founder and Conductor of the Arizona Symphonic Winds, an adult concert band; Conductor
of the Foothills Phil, a community intergenerational orchestra; and Conductor of the Tucson Pops Orchestra. Mr. Veres has appeared as Guest Conductor with the Tucson Symphony and with the Arizona High School Regional Honor Orchestras and Bands. He has received many awards for his outstanding ability in music. Mr. Veres shares his musical endeavors with his wife Frances, an orchestra director with the Tucson Unified School District and violinist in the Tucson Symphony; his sons, André, who plays the trumpet; Daniel, a clarinet player; and Michael, with his family of two children. He is the author of the published book “No Regrets”, an autobiography dealing with his life in Hungary during the Holocaust, World War II, Communism, his escape from there and his life in the United States.
